Do NOT duel in Sedina B8. If you do wish to duel there, be adviced that you can and probably will be shot by other pilots. It is impossible to see if someone is duelling or just fighting, specially when a lot of craft are involved. Take your duels somewhere else. Don't forget, there is a war going on!

You interupt my duel in B8 and I'll show you war!

Yours sincerely,
Gavan

yea right, the last time i saw you in B8, my moth fed you some mines when you shot at me. Nice try tho, pirate, but don't twist the facts.
Mar 21, 2005 Snax_28 link
Actually Arash, that was the Worm hole to Odia.... now your twisting the facts :P

The general idea is correct though.

For duelling, one should never:

- Fight in a populated area such as Sedina B-8.
- Fight in an area that is part of a CtC route.
- Fight in a truly empty sector. (One that is completely devoid of asteroids and jump-ruining debris.)

One should always:

- Fight with a maximum of five (5) players in the sector, including the duellists, the overseer, and/or the repair-person.
- Practice duelling in asteroid fields. I don't duel myself, but I consider someone who wins consistently in mid-roidfield duels more skilled than someone who does in open space duels.
- Fight with at least one kilometer (1km) before you are able to jump to prevent accidental forfeitures.

celkan, it doesn't matter if it is open field or not, that is surely not a requirement. We only never had any sectors that were devoid of anything untill release...

Not to mention that I do not really know why you can't have more then 5 people watching the duel... We used to watch with 10 and more...

I agree on the others though.

cheers

bah, excuses to maintain a gangbang! so what if there is a war going on, respecting other player's decision to duel should be top priority. and even if it is not an official duel, why help someone that may not need it? how else are they going to have confidence if they never get a chance to win a one on one vs gavan? personally when i see 2 pilots going at it i'll watch until something happens that makes it look like it is not a 1 vs 1. like someone else joining the fight. then i'll target the new guy and shoot at them as a way of saying, hey.. let them finish!

anyway, you should think before you shoot. if it looks like a one on one, let it be. and it does not hurt to ask. most of my guildmates will messaage me prior to joining a fight. so why not have that same consideration?

Renegade: I have heard many complaints of players who have hit the jump button just after finishing a duel. This causes a forfeit. Frankly, it takes much more skill to take roids into account when dodging than it does to not.

If you require me to write out every fracking word that forms in my mind in order for you to understand what i'm trying to say, then you need to take some sort of inductive reasoning class.

To all combat pilots :

Sedinia B8 is private property. Please pay 25k to Martin.mac.au as clean-up/maintenance fee to duel in it. Also, please remove your own debris after your duel(s), Martin.mac.au will charge extra 15k for debris in B8. (Spectators : popcorn can be obtained from holden for 15k per pack, xith-laced. Yoda will get itani-sprinkled cookies instead).

celkan, yes it does, but it is not a requirement for a duel to hold place. Nor has it ever been. It just added some scenery and sphere to to a duel or some non-forgetfull protection. Nothing else, I just didn't want to see it getting postulated as the way a duel NEEDS to be set up. But like I postulated, it is in my opinion more fun with some pieces of roid and stuff. But once more it has never been a requirement.

And yes I need you to write every word down from what gets concocted up in your mind, it is after all yours and not my mind, and if you want to let people understand some of your concoctions then that is a prerogative... Anyway, I'm not even going to bother replying further if you keep writing in that manner celkan, since it would start to affect my disposition and posting style.

Anyway bobsin, I agree that you are right, but as always there are people that do not care for others and just are there to have there own fun. I wouldn't go into a fight either unless that person comes after me. But as I highlighted a bit above, you have to know and therefore take into account that these people do exist. Therefore it is the best solution that you actually just go to a less travelled sector. As always it is impossible to enforce your values on somebody else as you prolly know. You just have to take into account these different valuemindsets and adjust to it.

Duel where-ever you want.

BUT: Don't complain if you get interupted in Sedina B8 because it was dumb to think you wouldn't...

B8 is always safe* there is no reason you should not duel in B8**. Why the only place I can think of to duel in that is safer*** then B8 is in front of Shape's MGC.

excellent point borb :D

renegade, yeah i know those people exsist and us considerate people have to take them into account.. i was just hoping to open their eyes a bit. i thought maybe if somone planted consideration as a possability in their mind that it might take hold and help them to become better people. ah well, dreams are dreams and all! :)

The way I see it, anytime you see two people fighting, unless they ask for help, or your involved in ctc, stay out of it. And I myself experienced the other night someone getting involved. It shouldnt matter where it is, two people fighting whether they use the duel command or not, the honorable thing to do is stay out of it. I have personally never had a fight interferred with by any of the pirates, but Vipers have interfered, even after seeing in sector chat that we were dueling. Sad day indeed when the ones that say they are against piracy because of the way they conduct themselves, yet its this very same group who is acting without honor in battle situations. Just my two cents for the topic :-)
