I'm just surprised Nihilus is a guide now. That's trustworthy!

It really is.

Thanks for answering my question lads. How would you describe your political beliefs?

Xeha called me trustworthy? That's not an easy feat. Thanks for that bud.

My use of past tense was not meant to imply anything about what Obama's current religion is. I only used past tense because, as he is no longer president, I was thinking about him in the past tense. I don't know if he was a Muslim and I don't know if he is a Muslim, and I really don't care.

Yes, Islam says a lot of really fucking terrible things. But so does Christianity. Take Numbers 31, for example, where Moses orders the taking of tens of thousands of virgin girls as sex slaves after slaughtering the rest of their society (children included), and God totally neglects to step in and chastise his prophet and chosen people for their rampant villainy. Clearly he doesn't think slavery is a big deal. Unlike, say, anal sex, which he'll totally nuke your entire city over.

Of course, most modern Christians would never support that nonsense. They might subscribe in theory to a blatantly evil religion, but what they actually practice is a heavily corrupted and diluted version that is mostly benign. This is also the case with many self proclaimed Muslims. Especially those who live in more Western societies. You could argue that they're not real Muslims just as they argue that the extremists are not real Muslims, but then you're just quibbling. You might as well argue about which, if any, denominations of Christianity are real and which ones are bogus -- a matter over which many wars have been fought.

Anyway, I didn't vote for Obama and was primed to call him out on any bullshit, but at no point do I recall him trying to enforce laws that would restrict women's freedom, penalize me for being an atheist, or anything else that I might attribute to Islamic douchebaggery. In fact, I have fewer complaints about Obama than I have about Bush. What complaints I do have (ACA, mainly) are not anything that I could blame on religion.

So why should I care what religion he follows, when it clearly doesn't matter?

Clearly, use of VO forum, must be a lot cheaper than seein' a shrink and no less efficient maybe. :p

Heh wot 'bout a thread where Lecter gives free legal advices? :p

Obama may have not targeted atheists, but he did target christian conservatives groups, over 400 of them to be abused by the IRS so badly that Trump had to go behind him and clean up his mess.

Comparing the old testament to "modern day Islam" is not a very effective rebuttal, Christianity has seen enlightenment with their v2.0 book.

Islam does more than just say bad things, it is their entire doctrine and to go against it means certain death. You cannot be the "leader of the free world" and prescribe to an ideology that stands wholly against the very idea of freedom. That's like putting an arsonist in charge of the fire department.

So I ask yet again, what muslim country would you rather live in than the US since Islam is so "irrelevant"

Oh, and I've yet to heard a coherent post about capitalism. You know, the topic of this thread.

"On May 14, 2013, the Inspector General's audit report was made public. President Obama released a statement saying, "The IRS must apply the law in a fair and impartial way, and its employees must act with utmost integrity. This report shows that some of its employees failed that test. I've directed Secretary Lew to hold those responsible for these failures accountable, and to make sure that each of the Inspector General's recommendations are implemented quickly, so that such conduct never happens again. But regardless of how this conduct was allowed to take place, the bottom line is, it was wrong."

Obama didn't direct the IRS do target those groups, but he did direct his administration to hold them accountable. Also, it wasn't JUST conservative christian groups, but also liberal groups as well.

Obama is most certainly not a Muslim (none of your links show any kind of proof whatsoever), and I'm doubtful he's even a Christian despite his claims. I'm pretty sure the last actual Christian was saw in the Whitehouse was Carter -- all the recent ones just say they are because otherwise Christians will think they are satanic.

I didn't say that Islam is irrelevant. I said that it doesn't matter what Obama's religion is, whether that be watered down Christianity or watered down Islam. Living in a Muslim country would suck, and so would living in a Christian country. I'm happy where I'm at, in a country constitutionally forbidden from having any established religion.

As for your video, I have other things I'd rather do for the next two hours than listen to some rich dude talk to random people. Maybe another day. What I will say now, though, is that capitalism works great for some problems, and socialism works great for other problems. Neither of them is a universal solution. Anybody who says otherwise is as much of a deluded fool as any hardcore Muslim or Christian (or Jew or Wikkan or...); they're pushing religion, not reality.

Despite the fact that greenwall has an obvious only-child syndrome who spent more time in his childhood losing his marbles over other kids who didn't conform to his expectation of how they should behave than he did making friends, he's dead on right about mi5.

Hobo blackface Santa has bought in a little too heavily on the conspiracy theories. It's not so much that there's a sneaky mastermind out there manipulating all sides of things, as it is that things just sort of work out that way due to a combination of human nature and happenstance. There are certainly a few people who like to think that they're cleverly pulling all the strings, but they're mostly deluding themselves into thinking that surfing a wave is the same as controlling the wave. The people on top aren't there because some secret society put them there. They're on top because of a combination of luck, hard work, and a strong understanding of how the waves behave. Some of them get complacent after a while, believe they can control the waves, and drown. (Look at Clinton's 2016 wipeout. I'd have preferred her over Trump, but I couldn't help but laugh at the way the Democrats were floundering in the aftermath of the election. They thought they were Poseidon, but they were only Palpatine.) And if surfers all seem kind of similar, it's not because a shadow cabal is picking out their moves. A surfer looks like a surfer because they surf. They face the same problem and find similar solutions. You'll get a few oddballs, but mostly you'll find a lot of convergent evolution.

Pizza, would you say Trump had a gigantic serving of luck and very little of anything else?
Jan 11, 2018 Mi5 link
You're almost there, it's just those guys who got to the "top" of the industrialized world by luck, hard work, and so on designed the system to work in their favor. Such as "economic advisers" who set policy, who later end up owning the major banks and other financial systems and using a rigged system in their favor.

Aka crony capitalism a faux free market

The reason Trump won is because the political/social elite are in a echo chamber separated from the population they were put in place to represent, Trump being a master marketeer was able to hear the American peoples demands of national security, economic prosperity, and a return to the values that made us great to begin with. Which makes sense, any entrepreneur that can identify a demand from a market and provide a supply will profit. He also was able to secure billions in free marketing/advertisement from the people trying to bury him in the dinosaur media and create a following in some may argue one of the final sectors of the economy with any semblance of free market ideals. The Internet.

JJ, you being unable to recognize that is proof that even after the election you are still trapped in a echo chamber and why Trump will win 2020.
Jan 11, 2018 greenwall link
Trump will win in 2020 because he purposefully will not do anything to prevent Russia from meddling in our elections again.

Hanks/Johnson 2020! woooo
