U of V

In mid-January I will be unveiling the University of Vendetta. This will be a series of courses aimed at informing new players of Vendetta.

I will actually be paying people money to pass the Certificate course as I am calling it. Not sure on numbers right now.

To get a Certificate people will have to pass 10 classes in Vendetta.

1) History of Vendetta-Online: Goes through how the game started in the Devs' head and progressed to the Engine Test then into Beta etc.

2) History of the Vendetta Universe: sort of a read the back-story course

3) Basic Flight: Goes through how the jump system works, how acceleration works and pros and cons of physics vs. arcade engine.

4) Basic Combat: Goes through techniques like barrel rolls and diamond strafes and auto aim. Also touches on armor vs. acceleration.

5) Heavy Ship Combat: How to use heavy ships properly and effectively

6) Light Ship Combat: Same as above but for light ships.

7) Trading: Explains trading and effective strategies. Also Trade ships and pirate defense.

8) Mining: all the good stuff to know about mining.

9) Commands: Chat commands and console commands

10) Binding and Alias's

Now each of these courses will be made up of about a 1-page document and some in game practical training. Followed by a simple test.

As I am pretty busy I just wanted to see if other people would be interested in helping out with this project.
Writing a course would be a great help since I don't have time to do them all and do not know everything about some topics.
Instructors will also be needed mid-January. In game compensation will be given and familiarity with the topics is a must.

If you wish to help post, if you have any constructive suggestions feel free.

Ooo, nice. It looks like Roguelazer's still got a bunch of old screenies up on his site; you may want to ask him for permission to use them.

the wraith counts, besides, you can be level 9/9/9/9 and still be a newbie to PvP if all you've done is bot.

glad to see the response and that others want to help new players progress as well :)

grunadulater-
New players means any of the people from the last few months basically.

Many people from the time of Open Beta on still have no idea about the game, it's history, or good PvP strategies. This limits their view of the game considerably. A more informed user base means better PvP and fun for the majority of us.

Yup, the Academy's somewhat meager archives are at your command, and they promise to grow once I'm out of school (Thursday).

I will do more work over vacation, too. But mine begins on the 24th, so I have awhile yet.
