In the video I tap turbo to try to get to 64m/s. Accelerating into 64m/s doesn't seem to trigger it, but I'm not 100% sure.

this can happen at all velocities (and has for years).

its been my experience that it happens at specific factors of your speed, ie, 16, 32, 64.. and not just any speed. ive fired many many many thousands under precision control and the pattern pops right out at you quickly. may be even as low as a factor of 8 rather than 16.. its been a long time since i tested it.
