Bug report: Shaders

Jun 26, 2022 mustafaalaa link
Some ships like the behemoth, centareon and warthog show blank white everywhere in the game.

I've recently changed my pc since my old one isn't working anymore, and this was when I started to notice this issue, I asked around in the VO official server and i was told it's a shaders issue.

I was offered a couple solutions, lower shaders quality and switch drivers from DX.11 to DX.9
Which the later worked.
My old pc spects were:
- cpu: AMD Athlon x2
- Ram: 1GB
-Gpu: integrated with 300mb vram
- OS: windows 7

My spects now:
- cpu: Intel Core 2 duo E7400
- Ram: 2GB
- Gpu: integrated Intel(R) G41 Express WDDM 1.1 with 1gb vram
- OS: Windows 10

I hope this issue can be solved, thank you!

This is due to the fact of your gpu not supporting dx 11. Id reccomend run dx9 for now and look at a cheap gpu that supports dx11.
(I find dx9 runs rubbish in unrat sector and unknown sectors where as dx11 handles it fine. )

I will also point out u will see a massive benefit to a upgrade to your ram, windows would hog 1gb min your gpu being an igpu shares ram to function as vram. So 500mb max and left over 500mb left over for vo to top out ur 2gb (not to mention it would cause heavy wearing as ur storage drive would be hit all the time with windows page files due to the low ram.

As people have suggested, running the DX9 driver may be better suited to that hardware, it is the most "lightweight" driver we have. You have an exceptionally low-end GPU, I'm happy to hear it still runs the game at all.

You can also check Intel's site to see if they have more recent drivers available.

As an aside, you'll want to make sure you have 64bit Windows 10 installed, and not 32bit Windows 10, as we are going to drop support for 32bit Windows in the not-too-distant future. Your Core 2 Duo supports 64bit Windows 10, but it may not have come pre-installed with it.
