VR background glitch

Mar 11, 2023 mybeatsarebollox link
Not a major issue, just a little strange.

Since the last patch there has been a glitch in the backgound the first time i enter space. Part of the loading screen gets rendered in as part of the background. So theres a 2d station infront if me aswell as the 3d station i just left. If i redock with the station and launch again the problem persists. If i leave the sector there is no problem with the new backgound and if i return to my initial sector its back to normal also.

Im using a standalone Quest 2. No plugins installed. I took a few screenshots but have been unable to get them off the quest . It wont sync with my app properly and i dont have access to a pc currently.

From Incarnate in a previous thread regarding VR/Quest 2

"It isn't completed yet and, as a result, has not been announced. We specifically do NOT want to call attention to it, at the moment, until we're ready to publicly announce it.

A bunch of the new-user experience is still pretty rough at the moment. For an existing player it's better.

Honestly, I didn't expect people to be actively searching for it, or I would have kept it completely offline for the moment. It only entered the App Lab relatively recently. But, glad you're enjoying it."

A quote from a thread about advertising and bringing in new players if i remember correctly.

Not sure how that applies to me reporting a brand new bug thats only appeared after an update.

Nowhere has Incarnate said that there would be no further support for the platform if thats what you're implying and im pretty sure he would like to be made aware of such things which is why i made the report.

We're actually already looking into this issue, although we aren't sure if the problem might be related to a Meta device update.

We'll see what we can do.

You're probably already aware but havent had this issue since the last update.

Thanks for sorting that one.

Yup, it should be "fixed" now, glad to hear it.

Oculus / Meta had made some kind of obscure change on their side. So, our code that had been working suddenly stopped working. We've managed to work around the issue, but have no real explanation as to "why" it was needed.
