During a jump the other night i caught the mouselook button and the following happened
1) ship dissapeared
2) ship didnt reappear but i got the 'exiting' jump animation, just no ship image
3) pressed F2 repeatedly to try and get ship to appear
4) result - z00000m 5000+ ms

i have been able to duplicate this with mixed success.

In the "for devs" thread there is a story about high speeds. About a week ago I had a odd one:
I was crossing s9 and it seemed like I bumped something. Suddenly I was accelerating up to 4kps or 5kps. I could roll but had no other control so I was turboing. The battery had gone to zero. Then I spontaneously reversed, then forward. I bounced back and forth a couple of times. I ended up something like 30k out, it took ten or twenty minutes to fly back to a worm hole. I mentioned this in-game and the response was, "oh that's just lag." Really? Is that possible?
I had no binds or aliases at that time. It was quite startling.

Since you bounced back and forth a couple times its a sign that you were lagging, or at least lag had some type of connection with that bug.

not so much 'invisible' as just no ship. Reappears after battering F2 a few times.
Seems to have something to do with mouselook / activate and the throttle control on my j/s
I cant control the direction using the j/s but i can with the mouse, at about 800,000 m i seem to get to the edge of the sector and find myself coming back again. Is this your "bouncing' ?

To duplicate it use the following steps

warp - mouselook - F2 (to get ship back) = z000m
seems to work best in S11, dunno if its something to do with my puter also (G5) but i souldnt be lagging on cable so that theory can be discounted (maybe)

Hmm, so this is completely reproducable?

I'll see if it's possible on mac if necessary when I get home.

I was unable to reproduce it.

So, did mouselook get turned on or off when this happened?
What F2 mode were you in when you tried to warp?
Were you flying with the joystick or were you using the mouse when it happened?

I tried to reproduce it but got nothing. I will try again with my js and see if that makes a difference.

OK from memory

i turned mouselook ON by accident when i jumped
i was in what i conside normal mode - internal view
i was using j/s with throttle control full open - 50m/s ish

Celkan i am on a Mac G5 1.8 which i maybe why it happened in the first place, poss due to some 64bit weirdness

Update: since i ran the cron scripts on my comp (its a maintainance thing with Macs) i dont seem to be able to z000m anymore.
If i try i just get stuck in the loading screen.........
