I lost my internet connection mid-fight. When I logged back on I had apparently lost that ship. That sux. This wasn't a logoff, but an ISP failure.

Any chance this is not a desired effect? I can understand the logic of saying S.O.L. If one doesn't like the fight one could just unplug, but it sux if I were to be hauling cargo in my fully outfitted Favorite Ship (tm).

You probably had bad lag and died b4 you got disconnected but did not know it.

If you get lagged/disconnected, your ship floats for a while before it disappears. I'm guessing this is in case the connection recovers. You got disconnected, your ship began floating without a pilot and was destroyed.

The only way to implement it, really.

IMO in any game the time-out time should be only about 10 seconds. I'd rather be logged off when my connection lags to hell and back than to die every time I get disconned.
