X-45 Throttle

Oct 06, 2004 Longbow link
Hey all, i play with a Saitek X-45, and the throttle won't work in game. i go to the control options menu and the slider moves when i move the throttle, but when i go back to the game the throttle does nothing. any suggestions?

Yup. Try pressing (while ingame) ESC, then Options, Controls and tick off Keyboard/Joystick. That should tell the client that you prefer using a joystick and it should help.

right, i have done that..... i probly should have explained a bit more in detail.....

joystick/keyboard has been selected, stick and buttons all work fine in physics mode. the throttle is the only thing that refuses to work. it works in arcade mode, but as soon as i select physics the throttle stops responding to my inputs and i just drift at whatever velocity i was at when i switched over.

Ah, that would be because in physics mode there is no 'throttle'. You instead have foreward and backward acceleration, and you apply either until you move at your desired speed. As such, a joystick throttle control won't work very well- you'll need buttons.
