Itani convoy
it cant find it's way worth crap.
the serco convoy averages 1.5-2min per sector the itani is doing 5 or more and it can't keep its escorts
i caught up with the serco ship 2 systems into serco space and it still had its 2 little escorts, the itani ship seems to lose them after one jump and flew in all sorts of goofy directions to wormhole out
serco convoy actually heads away from asteroids to warp out, itani one heads for the center!
something is crazy for sure

I dunno, last night, another player and I had just finished dropping off the cargo we'd recovered from the Serco transport we were protecting, when an Itani transport left. We tried to cut it off, but it moved so quickly through its route that it had finished before we'd gained any distance on it. And we were taking a least-time route.
Ive seen the Itani convoy and honestly i think a 2 year old could pilot the ships better. Our convoy weeves in and out of sectors mindlessly. It makes it very had to protect them. and it seems like if they get caught in an ion storm then there pretty much meat. its no suprize serco has the lead at this point (111-172)
After playing a while, I think I've figured out that if the convoy is unescorted, it moves very quickly. Probably just as fast as a human player. As soon as the convoy is escorted, I think it moves slower. The Serco are probably winning because the Itani have made a lot of UIT enemies, and the Serco, smarting from the last cargo war, are being more aggressive in attacking and defending convoys. Why, the last 4 or 5 times I attacked an Itani convoy, it was either completely undefended, or it was defended by a relatively inexperienced player who was easy to defeat. There were one or two exceptions, but otherwise, it was a cakewalk.
I've observed both convoys and they mostly do the same things. Like CP mentions, if they are unescorted, they tend to stay on track and get through their jumps and warps quickly. If someone is escorting (observing) they take time to evaluate circumstances more... sit idle... go in wrong directions... etc.
I don't mind this behaviour. What I do mind is the disregard of jumping/warping rules that players need to follow. Warping 8k from a WH and jumping while next to a roid are aggrivating to say the least.
