A Fourth Race
How about introducing a fourth race? Nomads.
They have no sector and base Station. But they live in all the other sectors. They are randomly given a starting station when the new player is built. They live, trade and earn off the other players. They opperate outside of the other races laws and rules.
They would be a true pirate/rogue race.
(not a pirate)White Magic.
The other alternative would be to have an alien race with organic and biological ships & weapons???????

No offense intended, but the devs have made it clear many many times that there will be 3 races now, in the future, and until Vendetta's EOL.

how about space termites, they go around in tiny little ships, chewing through the ships of the bigger players ;-)
How about they become miners, and they fly around in lightning mines

Specifically the Jeshumans, who are alien nomads (a semi fusion of your two ideas). I would love to see the dev's put a race like this into the game, which was partly my motive for writing Messenger in the first place.
And no, Messenger isn't dead for those who are wondering. I'll have the next installment done sometime in the next two weeks.

Speaking of, I actually have been working on 'The Cold Front' (if anyone cares) and may actually have time to get a chapter or two out over spring break.
