Crafting: Implementation and Ramifications.

This sounds like a great long-term plan. What would be nice to see short-term would at least be that stations need certain materials to produce things, and things you sell to stations get resold. For example if someone hauls a big load of positron blasters to a station and sells them, that station would then have them on hand to be bought. And to make a ship, it takes a certain amount of various goods such as units of electronics and metals. To put it another way, if no one ever mines any ore or moves any trade goods, eventually the stations run out of stuff to sell. It would make the game economy a lot more realistic.

I agree.

And closely related to that top is the "New Economy" (rebalancing), which I tried to address in this related posting: http://www.vendetta-online.com/x/msgboard/3/17418

Anyway they are working on the New Economy (and crafting), as far as I can see, over the medium term.
