Groups in Raid Sizes

Spidey, I prefer a health bar instead of a percentage. The bar is faster to understand and easier to compare.

Having many people in a group will lag the group members if the system is not implemented properly. I think the best method mentioned so far is to use a scrollable PDA group display bound to an uncommon key like / or 8 or shift-\.

I think we should have another group command that sets ranks similar to the lieutenant ranks in guilds. Only the commander and lieutenants would be displayed in the group HUD on the right. All other group members would be included in that PDA group display. There would be a maximum of 4 lieutenants, for example. This would make sure your display on the right would only need to track 5 people at a time, thus reducing HUD size and lag.

Similar to what Clay suggested, but groups within groups. It makes more sense that if you have lots of people, you want to organise them into wings, flights, squadrons etc.

The squadron commander needs to be able to give commands to a flight (attack this target over there, which also requires some of the suggestions for an improved radar for sharing targets), but shouldn't need to care about individuals within the flight. All they need to see is that there are 4 groups, with 6, 2, 7 and 5 people in them, plus names of the leaders of those groups.

A single flight should only be worrying about their comrades, with maybe some general ideas about how other flights are doing.

So the HUD display would show people in your group as it does now, plus possibly general info (number of people left in group?) for the related groups. A PDA screen could then show full details.

If you simply want larger groups, just display the 8 nearest group members on the HUD, with a PDA option for the rest.
