how about the ability to sell stuff?

okay... through character development, i have eliminated the relationships between myself and certain factions...

but there are a couple things left behind when she kicked me out the door... unfortunately, i can still see these things in my ship selection/universe inventory...

may i suggest being able to sell these items without having to be in the same station, or even the loss of the items as a punishment for loss of standing with that station's nation... (hopefully not the latter, there are some things that could gain some good coin)

But surely if you didn't have to go there then there would be no risk : without risk there would be no point in commerce?

I agree with the original post. I actually had this thought floating around my head for some time, glad someone finally suggested it.

we obviously live in the digital age... {space ships and all}

i'm pretty sure that i dont HAVE to be there to sell something in the station that i bought it in... usually you dont make a profit doing that...

It's a game.

Besides, I think that if you severed your ties to a faction, i.e. become hated, wouldn't they confiscate your stuff?

tosh, that's what i suggested in my first post. but the ability to sell objects in other stations still wont eliminate or benefit trade runs.

even if there is a price drop for selling out of station, it still keeps your inventory organized and clean. my screen looks like a friggin' mess, cause i cant get to serco or valent space to sell this stuff.

heck, personally, i'll accept if the dev's can just issue a house cleaning of every sector i have something in except my home station.

Exactly... the key point as I understand it is that you can *sell* stuff remotely, but actually turning a profit means moving stuff around. That you have to do yourself.

You could even keep a stash of widgets at different stations and watch the price rise or drop with the dynamic economy... like stocks. Watch the price get higher and higher as the demand goes up, then decide for yourself when is a good time to sell your stash, hopefully beating everyone else to the punch.

If you ever became KOS with a certain faction, they could still confiscate your inventory at those stations.

Perhaps this is too open to exploits, but it still seems like a neat idea.
