a new and dangerous system...

ok...I havent seen this yet so I would like to suggest a new system no planets, no stations just asteroids and ships. the system would be inhabited by dangerous psycopaths...many many dangerous psycopaths, think reavers from Firefly/Serenity.

they wouldnt be to bright and they would pretty much stay there...sometimes raiding directly connected systems and even more rarely going on longer extended raids.

they would have ships pieced together from stolen tech and salvaged ships, making thier design and fighting them a craps shoot...(maybe its a noob ship with one gun...maybe the ship is almost all weapons and an engine? could be tiny could be massive?)...

the rewards would be great for mining/combat/escorting in this system but the danger would be so great that even pirates would think twice before going in.

also it would make for some great large scale combat

similar to grey space but the biggest danger in grey space is pirates...I was thinking of someplace where its not a question of will you run into trouble but a question of will you actually make it out. not a few ships but a small armada of pyscos whose only joy in life is to make others suffer.

one sector may only have 5 ships, one may have 100 ships. and they ALL attack on sight.

maybe there could be a few abandoned stations...which could be looted, provided you could actually make it to them, land and take off again.

Don't try to rip off his ideas.

What about a secro testing ground for experimental highly advanced implants... Throw backs for all the failed testing and mentaly unhinged subjects, now lose and on the rampage...

rip off is such an ugly word...I trew reavers in as a basis for comparrison, nothing more.

but I find it funny that someone with the name "cunjo"...(rip off)...is even using the term rip off.

What's a Cunjo? Who's a Cunjo?

cunjo, pl. cunjo Rapacious animals inhabiting one small planet in a (relatively) remote star system on the border of Auroran and Federation territory in the Game Escape Velocity: Nova by Ambrosia SW.
Hunted by Auroran Warriors as a rite of passage, with HTH weapons. Hunted by clerks (read: wusses) from Federation worlds as a rite of passage, with laser wapons.

For that matter, my name is not only a rip-off, it's a name stolen from a dead actor.

eh...theres nothing wrong with ripping stuff off I geuss...most of the stuff we have today was "ripped off" from some one else.

besides in the realm of sci-fi...there are not that many original ideas left. alot seems to have been borrowed from star wars, star trek...and going back even further, buck rodgers.

the serco idea was pretty good...some far off system filled with the deranged throw backs.

also, this could lead not only to some major rewards but some pretty awesome group/multi nation missons.

Why, pray tell, would the Serco release failed experiments to do whatever they want, so they might even become a security risk, instead of breaking them down into their base components and recycle them?

This is founded on more than a mere whim. The Serco have lived on one single planet for quite some time. Terraforming, energy technology and recycling are bound to have reached a very high state of sophistication, or the planet would not have been able to support them.

I dont know why theyd release them...I was thinking maybe theyd escaped, or perhaps it started as a prison that was over run.
