new rockets

this weapon should be a small port weapon but its like rapid fire rockets.
The rockets would be like having gravitrons or tachions as a rapid fire weapon.

Damage: 300
Velocity: 130m (remember its like replacing tach so it should have the near the same velocity)
Capacity: 150
Splash: 5m or 10m?
Detonation: contact or 5m?
Price: 7500c

Vendetta doesn't really have rapid fire rockets so it would be cool. Also it wouldn't completely replace tach, just for the people who prefer rockets.

The only thing about a 'rapid fire' ammunition consuming weapon is that there are technical limitations imposed by bandwidth on how often the ammunition of a weapon can be updated and not produce lag.

I don't know what the minimum cycle time might be, but then again you don't suggest one either. Other than the higher ammunition capacity of your weapon, its basically identical to my 'light autocannon' (see the toys thread).

oh ya i forgot to include the repeat. It would be like a tach maybe 0.15 or 0.2?

The devs have said that they can't do better than .5 (I think) with ammo consuming weapons, because it will create too much lag. : (

What if one click fires 5 or 10 shots in succession.

This weapon is nothing like the tach...

A single projectile that looks like 5, and makes a "tschh...tschh...tschh...tschh...tschh" sound when it launches? :D

The current sunflares are already frickin' rocket machineguns. They need to be fixed so there's some reload delay. Once this is dealt with, say bye bye to rocket rammers also.

Arolte the problem with them isn't the lack of delay, but the isntant hit. If they're given a delay equal to 1.1 times (their speed) devided by (their trigger radius) that will get rid of ramming. If you get rid of the rapid fire it will make it so that someone could not make a ring of rockets trying to entrap their target.

maybe if it went like this, it would be one shot that fires 4 rockets over a 0.6 second period (takes care of the lag i think) So that then u could keep firing them and it would have the same affect but because it is really a single firing in which the repeat is 0.6, it might take care of lag.
