New Player Info

Okay, various efforts have been made to make newbie life easier...

This is rumour control, here are the facts.

1.> Expect to get killed, always. There are no safe places. Do Not, under any circumstanes assume that your home sectors are safe places.

2.> Do not go off trading in a ship you can't afford to lose! I have seen a great many players lose all their money on the atlas they just bought (and couldn't afford to arm).

3.> It's insanity to go to somewhere like s14, s15, s17, s18 etc... and expect right of traders passage. If you know how to get to these sectors you are not a noob, therefore a valid target!

4.> trade in a bus for as long as possible. Don't buy a new ship as soon as you have the money. (see 2)

This may sound harsh, but it is the truth. I'm not claiming all players are meanie pooheads, but meanie pooheads exist and they *will* kill you regardless of status/score/nation etc.

If we can clear the "but i'm a n00b" attitude, i'm sure alot of people will have more fun. Especially new players, if they get it into their heads that this game is vicious, they will practice and train or quit.

example...

You have just bought a cool new game, everyone's playing it and they tell you it's fun. You load it up and start playing. Within a few seconds of startup you are dead. What do you do? Write and complain to the software manufactures that their game is too hard? flame the game to high heaven on some notice board so no one plays it?

No, no one is this stupid, you spent all that money and this little fscking game is not going to get the better of you, is it? You play it for several hours, building up tactics and ways to defeat your enemies, the more people grief you the more grudges you hold. You hone your skills and better these players.

Read the title Vendetta, vendetta=grudge etc...

P.S. It's just a game :)
