Expanding the definition of "cargo"

Jul 20, 2003 anagram link
I suggest that cargo slots:

1) be able to store ship components such as engines, weapon systems, batteries, etc. These are commodities as well, and it would be handy whilst one is constructing their personal fleet. This may lead to the question of whether or not some cargo should occupy more than one cargo-slot.

2) be able to store a player's "person." This way the idea of taxi-service could be placed in the player's hands. An extension to this may be to have an NPC's "person" be listed as a cargo-purchase of 0c, or possibly a negative cost. This would represent customers wishing taxi-service. A further extension may be a "seating-pod" for ship equipment allowing one to demand higher prices and/or seat more customers per trip.

3) be able to store a new class of cargo: secured-cargo vault-unit. This secured-cargo vault-unit could have one or more of the following features:
-- password locked at time of purchase/activation. The only way into the unit after this is to give the correct password, or to destroy the unit (possibly rendering the contents useless).
-- any (or most) other cargo type may be placed in side the unit.
-- homing beacon. As a security/recovery measure the unit would have a built in homing beacon which just transmits on owner-teams, or possibly the public channel the current sector and/or station location of the unit. This would make it difficult for thieves to retain control of it, unless of course they make it back to home sector with it.

p.s. this is my first post so I would like to take the time to thank the Guild Software fellows for this opportunity to be part of this great project!

me finds some of those nice,

especially the safetylock one, that will be really a pain in hte ass for pirates ;).

But for the rest, some of your other proposals have been proposed already by other people, so I would suggest reading a little about the rerst and then putting in here what you have adapted from there in your idea ;).
