Loading Screen

when you warping, try pressing "u" twice and then answer your own question "why is it still around" ;)

Why is it still around? A loading screen is almost unheard of in a space flight sim since the loading screen is almost thrown at you. The "loading" screen seems to make the systems a lot less fluid, will it ever be dropped and replaced by a flying through hyper-space deal? Or perhaps even better. Just a thought.

I believe the devs' answer to why there's no cool animation is because your computer renders the sector or whatever while you load, and the animation would bog down the computer... Or something like that...

I told you that I don't want to say I told you so, so I did.

I think there should be a mini pong game with each loading screen. It'll give people with a crappy connection or system something to do. No, on second thought I think a mini tetris game would be better. Or maybe you could set which one under your settings. Yeah, that would kick ass!

It would have to be a easter egg, like your movement keys would all the sudden bring part of the loading screen down and so it would start up a tetris game.

When loading, everything is going to get real jerky because it is fetching mine data, roid position data, roid type data, roid spin data, station data, dock region data, station spinny thing data, people data (ship type, faction, position), bot data, projectile data, also when warping it is saving your character data.

Then once it grabs it all, everything is neatly rendered behind the loading screen.

rrr yah...

Pong, or faster render, pong, render, pong render, pong, render...

Hmmm...

But it would be good for people with high pings.

It takes no time to get the info for me, and the rendering doesn't really take that long, it used to be a lot faster but still, it's not that long, I mean I can't get up and get a drink in the time it takes me to load.
