Cloaking, and then some.

This thread was inspired by the cloaking device thread.
How about special technologies accesible only to specific nations?

For example the Itani could get something like a ship with the current agility of the centurion, about 5-6k of health, 1 small port, and the ability to cloak.

The Serco could get a heavy support craft. A relatively slow ship (about the agility of the Ragnarok) with a radar jammer that shields all the ships within its jamming field. The shielded ships don't show up on radar or the list of people in the sector. Only the jamming ship will come up. The radar jammer could also function as a craft to reload fighters in mid-flight. If a fighter approaches and presses activate the jammer will reload its missiles in 2-5 seconds depending on how much it needs. The jammer would, of course, need to buy these stores of weapons before the attack is launched. It would have the capacity to hold something like 10 full launcher's worth of ammunition. So it would hold 40 Avalons, or 160 sunflares, or 180 geminis. . . The ship's only defense would be a built in basic gat.

The Neutral Territories would get an EMP ship to disable the proximity sensors on all warheads and mines in a given radius for 10 seconds once activated. It would also deactivate the homing sensors on all heat seekers. Unfortunately, activating the EMP will fully drain the battery of the EM ship. If the situation is not dire enough to call for a full fledged EM pulse, it can also fire its ion cannon. A beam cannon that drains 200 units of power from the battery of the targeted ship. The autoaim is akin to that of the Tachyon.

Or each of these technologies could be purchased as a module to be fitted onto ships instead of designing a specific ship to house them. An Ion cannon for the neutrals, a cloaking device for the Itani, and a radar jammer for the Serco.

As long as black market goers still can buy them all (at a steep markup even) then I'm happy.

Well, these ships, especially the Serco Mobile Weapons platform/radar jammer, are really designed for specific military applications. I doubt it would even be reasonable to put them in the game until it is something radically different and much more RPGish, including enrollment in the military. I don't think these ships would be made availible to the general public. I'm not even sure there will be as strong a black market as there is right now.
