Light Avalons

Purpose of new weapon would be to add a homing version. Add very slight (VERY VERY slight) guidance (and homing "lock" beep) to offset the vector disparities when firing farther from the center of the sector.

Suggest reducing total damage but retaining all other stats of normal avalons.

Or just add homing ability to normal avalons. Either will make me happy and we all know that's most important.

Also devs as a bonus if you did this you could forget about making cong station turrets larger.

No, they still need to make them bigger :) +1 op

Needs a better name. 'Light' implies small port.

Add homing to current version, no need for new version.

Also fix the bug that lets sneaky lua bastarges fire flares as seeking missiles plz.

-1 I smell an exploit
Aug 21, 2013 TheRedSpy link
Yes well it's greenwall, he reeks of exploits why do you think Angel ARF publicly disassociates himself with him on a regular basis.

Even so, avalons do need guidance and exploits have their own forum called 'bugs', you should come up with a better reason for a -1 than a vague statement that it's somehow an exploit.

Yeah aiming avalons sucks. Make them homing, targetable, and shootdownable, like mines.

There are no words to describe the hypocrisy of TRS, except perhaps his own.

-1 to any tracking. Dumbfire is dumbfire... though they could use a substantial damage buff IMO.
Aug 22, 2013 greenwall link
I would agree with Lecter if the vector issues didn't cause problems over large distances. All other "dumbfire" weapons in game are completely unaffected by this since they are only used at short ranges.

Rails get the shitty end of the stick on vector issues, too. You can have tracking on avalons when I get homing ADV rails :P

Rails don't suffer nearly as much, especially since using them with skill is done at closer ranges. But I hear your point.
Aug 22, 2013 yodaofborg link
Yes they do. Rails should be effective at a much greater range, but suffer from quantanization math past 400m. You ever been a rail shooter greenwall? Avalons are a fire and forget weapon that should be used against large craft like cap ships, rails are not.

Fix rails and I may +1 this.
Aug 22, 2013 greenwall link
No i've never used rails before, but I hear that long range use is only effective if people don't know you have them. This thread isn't about rails though, so stop hijacking and go make your own suggestion.

Are you a forum mod now?

Anyway, my point still stands. Avalon are fire and forget.

A cat sat on my knee today and I thought, omg, i have to go derail a thread on the vo forums, so I chose this one.

I love that cat and now he is my new best friend. He told me greenwall sucks so I must do this!

/end sarcasm

How old are you greenwall? 12? This thread jack was brought to you by Jack White the 4th...
