Stored Turbo, Pop! Drive.. :)

Actually, got this idea off some wierd sci-fi series that was on while I was playing vendetta...

The ship they were flying did normal speed. Turbo speed, and, a stored energy burst speed.

The stored energy took about 10 seconds to build up, then.. "POP!" with a nicely sized explosion they were traveling at 125% of the ships normal turbo maximum speed. The speed only lasted 10-15 seconds, then they were stuck with slow speed for a while while some battery or something recharged and repaired itself...

I was thinking if vendetta ships could do this, perhaps the explosion that leaves behind could do minor damage within a radius of 100m or so, being a defense against ships flying real close to you :)

umm only 125%? How bout like 600-800% for 5 seconds. That would be a great getaway from pirates and such. You drain your entire battery, (Like the charged cannnon now) and when you let go of the turbo, you are instantly heading 300m/s in whatever direction you were pointing. This setup could be set to a double-tap of the turbo. Normal tap would give you boost, a quick double-tap would give you a superjump. The other person still has a chance of catching you, but it makes it harder to do so.

What sci-fi series?

Didn't catch a name. :( Was busy watching the screen, not the tv... just heard them say something about engaging the burst drive.. turned, and saw.. "POW!".. and thought.. oooh, nice.

And, um.. skyfox? not sure what math system your using here... but..

300m/s is 150% of top turbo speed of 200m/s
250m/s would be 125%.. not a bad speed for escaping.
600% would be 1200m/s... yikes
800% would be 1600m/s... ouch..

In 5 seconds you'd be across the sector and probably 2000m past your wormhole.. lol

It would also be nice if you drifted while in this mode. Not keeping a straight course and not having to steer a non straight course would help you avoid being followed and having no battery power at the end.

Oops didn't see the "...of max turbo speed." part and thought it ment regular ship speed.
