I am starting this thread because of something that I feel is needed. Here is my story:

So I just subbed, got high licenses and unlocked all the Vakyries. A newbie asks me in chat,"what is the best fighter?" Well, knowing me and my love for my new ship and the fact that the Valkyrie definitely IS the best fighter money can buy; I told him that Valkyries are the way to go.

So after a bit I was flying around doing my own thing in-game when suddenly, the guy sends me a message saying to the effect of, "Loooooll! The Valyrie looks like a bra!"

And so here I am requesting that the Vakyrie get a design overhaul, no change in stats/size, just a different, better look. When I first started playing Vendetta Online I too thought that the Vakyrie lookeed a bit odd despite it being such a beast fighter. I simply overlooked its odd "round" design.

So this is my request,

Announcement: Today Itani reserchers and engineers along with the Itani Defense Force have succesfully completed a top-secret project involving the Itani flagship, the Valkyrie. A new Valkyrie prototype that will replace the current ones on all production lines! Simply put, the ship is a new "pretty face" representing the glorious Itani nation! Many ship enthusiasts are ecstatic about such a change and celebrations are being held on account of such an achievement. Word of this has spread to Serco space and it is believed that the Serco, a bit jealous, have commenced a new project for a design overhaul of the Prometheus!

Because some kid said that the Valkyrie looks funny, you demand a new design? What if that new design doesn't please the guy either? What if it then looks like a toilet seat? Do we need a new design then?

See my remark with a little wink. The Valk design is fine really...

Correction, I am not demanding a new design, this is only a suggestion. This IS the suggestion area, fyi.

Sure, we could change the Valk design - which would alter its collision mesh and thus its combat abilities.

Or, crazy idea, just send that 12y/o some nice tit pics so he (or she) can stop trying to find bras/boobs in ancient video game graphics.

Of all the ugly ships in this game, you want to overhaul one of the better designed ones?

-1. Not because I think its a bad suggestion, just bad timing. With the devs hard at work on VO 1.9, this can wait till later.

But let me share a story of my own. Many months ago, I was going through the forums, as you do, and saw a post that included a screenshot. Whoever posted the screenshot neglected to edit out the chat box, and I was able to read some guild chat (IIRC it was Itan guild chat). One of the comments that stuck with me was a compliment to the guild members online at the time, something along the lines of "Well done people, good showing. I logged 24 potato's in grey tonight". Clearly, this was a comment about the number of Valks doing whatever nationalist guilds do, but the vernacular stuck with me. These ships get nicknames like "potato" because despite (or perhaps because of) the ancient designs, people like the good stuff.

Not every space game needs to look like SC or E:D, and not every awesome boat has to look cool. Sometimes, just being awesome is enough :)
