Salvage a player-owned Connie

Jul 29, 2017 Mi5 link
Take Thors suggestion of a "Salvage Beam" and make the small floating debris into "Asteroids v2.0"

Have the health slowly go down, and provide a new widget "Junk" in return.

Have this new widget as a white box, and only be able to be unloaded at Latos I-8, Pel C-12, Brac M-14, Latos M-7.

Use "Junk" alongside other manufacturing widgets to complete repair missions on the main hulk.

Have all non-player owned capital ships drop "debris" on death.

Connie would not be insured, and a completely player-owned venture, and would be a great time to experiment with multiple captained capship with the key system, effectively making it a roving player owned station in a sense.

Let me verify; after building a constellation, to repair it you must use missions that take random manufacturables, commodities, and this stuff "Junk"?

sounds like a pain in the ass. And how would this work for multi-ownership?

actually, given those questions, I think I might just not understand the suggestion very well.

That's the fun about it Luxen. The pain in the ass it is to repair.

Players with an owner key can "Operate" it.

"Junk" is just a new widget, and the "repair", "rebuild", "service" missions are how you build it. After it's up and running repair guns are fine, just don't let it explode because then it's a hulk again where it explodes.

I say "random" but that's just me being lazy and not coming up with a recipe for every mission.

Here's an example, you would have to take these mission 4 times each, since the Connie has 4 engines.

"Repair a Engine"
Should require the person to have completed at least 1x 80mw manu mission before being able to do this.

X amount of "Junk"

"Service a Engine"
Should require the person to have completed at least 1x "Repair a Engine" mission before being able to do this.

250 Coolant
16 Data Link Connectors
90 Power Regulators
4 Energy Conversion Modules

Those are just examples, for the pieces on the Hulk that are worse there should be a "Rebuild a X" mission that cost a large amount of junk, compared to the better off parts that only need light "repair missions" and "service missions"

That's a +1 from me.

+1 from me, just as long as the shields are not as strong as the original connie.

Perhaps you could customise the connie to either make more armour, speed or storage.

Oh, and you need to be POS to enter nation space in serco and itani, and a step under that in the uit, as ling as you use the connie to help the nations in battle, thus risking your connie, and mixing things up.

Perhaps the devs could make it have weaker turrets that fire, say unlimited-ammo yellowjackets at 1.5 sec reload, as a secondary 'port', after you've gone and accepted the mission.

After the mission, you get to keep the cap-yellowjackets+ the people manning them. Just make it very hard to keep the ship 'alive' during the course of the mission.

Heck, the PCC could make the missions, taking everything off the devs apart from making the 'junk', the ship, and reading and then authorising the mission.

It'll mix things up, and if the shields strength, is, say, 4/3's a dents, it will be killable.

And, well, you can just turn and turbo a light fighter away from the yellowjackets.

Instead of random junk some of the debris could be differentiated just as hull part, reaktor part etc. You need this specific part + items on the initial manufactoring list to repair it.
