Make Losing a Capship More Painful

Rewarding a well organised group taking down a player trident is much better than imposing a harsh punishment on the player losing it. A badge (maybe unlocking some fancy stuff?) for trident kills works.

reason peaks through the clouds!

I can see that only if a anti-capship weapon or another item equivalent was added. A weapon that is like a railgun advanced in terms of requirements to unlock.

Go go gadget Aryko! Great suggestion.

How about, rather than abusing the loser of the trident you could increase the drop rates of those majorly expensive turrets.

This would then mean that if a trident goes down, the killers could gain almost a mill in credits as "treasure".

And, of course the badge for player cappie kills sounds good, done like the queen badges would be great.

And - its hilarious how many people here are abhorring the use of capships at all... what is the point in adding them to the game if you dont use them? You go through that horrid build and then you complete it... You wanna be able to use it all the time.

You guys are confusing the situation, there shouldnt be all this trolling desire, you shouldnt be so damned determined to make it so that when a trident gets killed the owner ends up pissed off, because thats what you are aiming for... Why do you want to make it so that the trident pilot, who has likely been going about their business until some group of players come along looking to give someone a hard time... And they lose their trident and their cargo... Isnt that enough? You guys can keep throwing ships at the trident and lose many and still the trident pilot cannot usually escape...

I mean, taking down a dent with even just two skilled pilots with a well thought out plan should be easy... Whilst i am happy with the idea of apeasing these desires with a badge so those players can count their kills and show off as they will, i am severely against the idea of making it so the pilot who flies the ship that is almost impossible to get away in, be hampered further than having their actvity ended with a chance encounter.

I mean, in reality what true justification is there in making the capital ship pilot who has likely spent months of loyal gameplay to complete their capital ship then be made to suffer to make these aggressive pilots get some sick sense of satisfaction with their kill beyond the kill itself.

I mean, its a game. Game means essentially sport... But if any of the ways people behave here were done in a sporting venue you'd all be permanently banned.

Its a game, to have fun. The contest is take down the trident. You win if you kill it, you lose if you let it escape. That activity of the chase, the fight itself, thats what it is all about, the gameplay, not about your sadistic desires to upset the player beyond sensible reason.

So, win lose or draw, do so gracefully, and allow recognition of the fact that nigh on every other ship in the game is easily replaceable. Why should it be different for the one type of ship that seems to draw the most attention?

Extended costs, increased wait time to replace, and anyother increased factor of difficulty placed on the losing pilot is simply gonna reduce your free access to this kind of gameplay.

So, give em a badge, make the turrets drop more so they get a tangible reward, but dont make the victim of the attack suffer more just to satisfy sadistic desires to troll and upset.

Im not reading most of people's rant about this, i own a goliath, i haven't docked it in a good month, it has died once. If you put it in risk then yah theres a chance to lose it, but not if you know what to do.

+1

and i don't even have 50mill
