Greater flexibility in guild roles

Apr 03, 2022 Sid123 link
I'm listing various powers available in a guild, along with which rank has which. This is both for my own clarity and for future reference.

Power to invite members: Commander, Lieutenant
Power to edit the MOTD: Commander
Power to make and fire Lieutenants: Commander
Power to vote a Commander in or out (an individual council can only vote, not autonomously remove or appoint a Commander): Council
Power to kick members: Commander, Lieutenant
Power to set withdrawal permissions and limits: Commander
Power to give or take bank/activity log viewing permissions: Commander
Power to set deposit permissions: Commander

Please help by adding any other powers that I may have missed.

Currently, the power distribution is rigid. If someone wants a system where everyone can invite members, but only a few can kick them? Not possible. Someone wants to give a Council+Lieutenant a withdrawal limit higher than that allowed to a Council or a Lieutenant? Not possible. Want a guild with only a council which appoints Lieutenants, but no commander? Not possible. Want a guild where multiple people can edit the MOTD? Nope.

This system has been worked around by by players wanting particular guild systems. But some things get impossible even with this. For example, if someone wants a guild where everyone can set the MOTD, they can't do so without either making the commander a bot which takes commands only from certain players (Eg. Automata) or sharing the account of the guild leader (not allowed).

To solve this, I suggest making the guild permissions system similar to the Discord server permissions, with as much division and subdivision of powers as possible, with the option to assign particular powers to one or multiple ranks. So if " Power to invite members" is a power in the list, the commander can choose to give many people that power. Other powers such as kicking members are independent. One may also be able to create many withdrawal limits than just 4. Ultimately, the Commander can give other members administrator powers to give or take away permissions, effectively making them commanders themselves.

The purpose of the suggestion is given in the title. To give guild roles more flexibility. We have a huge variety of guild structures in VO, and I think we should have a system compatible to it rather than having to use make-shift arrangements.

+1 but i think the main people who have a better out look or more of a understanding and can probably expand on this suggestion more are the leaders or high ranking officers of major guilds i.e TGFT,Famy,ONE ,ITAN...
The one factor for a new guild to survive is getting the members who are active, thought there are many more factors, but in my eyes this is one of the major ones. If we are looking at new roles i'd suggest a role for recruitment

Recruitment officer(potential role)
Amount of recruitment officer roles that can be given (0-3)
The recruitment officer has the ability to send a guild invitation to a player, BUT the player has to wait to officially attain the tag(24 hours or a set amount set by the co)the commander AND LT has the ability to revoke that invitation in that time period.

Yeah the concept of a "probationary" role has some uses. So a recruitment officer, who can invite people on probation, so they can only see guild chat and nothing else. A full Lieutenant can give a full invite.
But you're missing the point here. I'm not talking about more but still rigid titles. I'm talking about more flexibility on what a title is called, and what the powers are, all decided by the players. Exactly like in Discord.

I have made a rather extensive on a suggestion in the past offering ideas for expansion of the guild system and roles. I do agree that the guild system is critically important to VO and how we all interact with the game. Any improvements or additional options for guild management would be excellent additions to the game!

That's some suggestion. Would really like to see it implemented, slowly if not all at once.
