Shared Inventory

If it's for multiple people to share inventory, multiple can pay for it together. It's not 1 guy paying 200 mil. Also, this can potentially last infinitely. A one-time investment. Making it too low gives it potential for use in transfers.

I should have mentioned most people. Picking up cappie parts while not being keyed is almost impossible.

In the past two years,. Loads of cap ship parts have been transfered at Latos M7, which does not require a key. I would probably be correct in saying that most of the caps ships built in this time period have involved this kind of transfer. So the key issue is moot.

It's not supposed to be a way to exchange.

Except how it is written, this is actually how it would be used. Major guilds with multiple billions of credits(remember, some individual players in this game have over 8 billion credits. Just imagine what some guilds have collectively) will set up these for the safe transfer of their members items. They won't cost Crystal, because full sub players don't have crystal.

The only sense shared inventory makes is for forthcoming group projects like the concept of guild stations. And maybe guild run capital ships. And in this case, it would probably be a system where you add an item and CAN'T withdraw it.

You're sure people will be willing to spend 200 mil for a one-time transfer? When there is another, only mildly more dangerous way to transfer for free?

Over the years this has been discussed to death. Basically, traders want it and pirates hate it, and others are more or less on the fence.

I've been involved in trades involving tens of thousands of cu of a variety of stuff. There is nothing more boring in VO than flying out of a station to drop or pick up cargo, then dock, and repeat, hundreds of times. And seriously it's been years since I've been interrupted by a pirate when doing this. It's mostly not dangerous. And most of the time the cargo is of little value, losing an XC load would be of no consequence, if the pirate even bothered to pick it up.

At some point we are going to need some mechanism for bulk transfer. I understand that pirates don't want a safe way to transfer material.

So I would suggest that it only be available in some places that are inconvenient, so that more hauling has to happen to make up for the lack of round-and-round to transfer. It should not be available in conc stations & F6. I would start the discussion with suggesting the three nation capital's capship stations plus one more spot to service the tri-kos players.

I never suggested having this at M7. I said "conquerable stations and nation capitols". M7 is neither.

I think you might be confusing me with the OP. I know he's not suggesting exchanges, and Im aware that trading will be an outcome of this suggestion, which is why I said the suggestion will introduce a way to trade(a QoL feature) that will be accessible only to a few elites. The latter is obviously bad.

@csgno
Im fine with having this only at nation capitols.

EDIT: For tri-kos people, we can have a station(tortuga) in the unknown system.

For tri-KoS you literally have Odia M14. Also +1 to making inlt available not in the conqs. It's not convenient, but it's not meant to be.

Having easy trades in the pirate capitol doesn't make sense. UKS makes it tough since you have to go through a lot of bots, plus being far from 2 of the conquerable stations.

Corvus technically aren't pirates. And it's much easier to use Odia M14 rather than making a new station in UkS.

+1 it could be a good idea for guilds
