This is a suggestion taken from the old (2009) original post on keys and conquerable content.

Basically, if you own a station and want to put it on another key than the one it is on currently, or if you want to merge the keys of two or more stations/capships you own after the key allocation has been done, it should be possible. Right now, it isn't. The only way to change the key a station is allocated to is to attack and conquer your own station again. I don't see why such a tedious process should be necessary for what is essentially the equivalent of transferring a key from one keychain to another.
