Currently, if you want to switch your active ship inside the capship, the only way to do this is to take control of your capship, and then select the ship you want to switch to and launch. This is particularly inconvenient when you have some addons on one ship, and want to switch it to the other. Here, you have to take control, undock, redock, unequip, take control, undock in the other ship, redock and then equip. Unnecessarily inconvenient.

So, suggestion is to allow a person to switch active ships while docked inside their capship, similar to how it works in a station.
