Limpet mines
So this is a weapon suggestion I thought might be neat and add a new dynamic to anti-capital warfare.
It's only useful as an anti-capital mine, one that moves to attach itself to the craft and deals constant damage, but only to the vessel's shields. It'd stay stuck there until someone shoots it off (single hit.)
The fun part is that the mine would be nearly invisible on radar, appearing as an inert object rather than as a mine, until the enemy ship is in range. At this point it would move like a homing missile towards the vessel.
Admittedly, I have no idea how you'd balance the numbers on this one.

limpets were cool in classic tradewars, but they were used for tracking not damaging. a person would see damage and know there was something wrong.. undock and dispose of the item pretty much immediately.
a tracking version would be more subtle :)
