I've got an idea to implement the racetracks in missions.

Lets say in a distant future, there will be a mega-capship, 5-6 km long. It doesn't have to move, and it is spawned in an empty sector when you accept the (group)mission.

Now, the purpose of this mission is to destroy the capship, but this can only be done from the inside out (see where i'm getting at? ;). The heavy ships and light ships in the group distract the defences (turrets, fighters) while the medium ships enter the capship. You now have to fly through a tube circuit to the ships reactor and blast it with your screamers. After the reactor is hit, you have to escape the ship as quickly as possible because it will start to explode gradually from the inside out.

How do you like it? It doesn't have to be exactly like told here, but it's a workable idea, i think.

yea ok, thats quite narrow minded, don't stay stuck in the past, think into the future. There is so much more you can do with 'racetracks' then just build racetracks. Beta is over... (no offence intended here ;)

(Ok, so im not that rabid about it, im mainly in it for a tube sector and random tubes, tubes = l33t.)
