i know its a work in progress but i had to chime in.

1- id like the ships more configureable. different engines, radars, shields, you name it.

2-the hud needs a bit more info displayed.. there should be a 3d arrow or the like to show the current vector your ship is heading in in relation to the way your pointing. this lets me know exactly which way im drifting. there also needs to be the same type of thing for the vector of the ship you are currently targeting. id also like an indicator next to your speed showing exactly where my throttle is set so i know exactly how much negative or positive thrust i am applying regardless of overall speed.

3-ships need to move faster, and afterburners need to be less of a huge jump in speed. instead of a ship that cruises at 50mps and afterburner brings it up to 200mps, how about a ship that cruises at 100mps or 150mps and afterburner brings it up to 200mps max. id also like control over my ship while using afterburners, even if its somewhat limited.

4-missiles need a locking system, i cant tell you how much i hate missile spamming, especially in a PvP based game. it basically removes the skill element of combat all together. you should need to maintain the target within your forward hud for a certain ammount of time before you get lock. and if for any reason the target gets out of view your should loose lock comepletely. i can tell you from experience in another similar space sim, the current missile system is a disaster for PvP in general. i cannot stress this point enough. to counter the locking system, there should be a counter measure system. either a permanent peice of equipment that increases lock time perhaps, or a dispensor type system with a limited number of uses.

5-there needs to be faster and longer-range weaponry, especially if the base speeds of the ships moves up. but even as the game is now, huge leads are required to hit fast moving targets. although i havent gotten my levels up enough to explore all current weaponry, so i this may not be needed.

6-id like to see a complete list of current station equipment/goods levels and prices weather via the web or in-game. this makes commerce a bit easier and quicker.

thats it for now.

Some of the upper level weapons are quite fast.

1 - agreed
2 - Strongly agreed the game needs a vector pip. I would also add an attitude readout for group coordination.
3 - The devs need to be very careful making speed changes. I would make maybe 5%-10% buffs and see what happens. Higher speeds make it harder to change your vector.
4 - agreed a 2-4 sec lock time would require more skill to use.
5 - Disagreed, weapon shot speed seem ok to me. In a very similar game, I grew to hate the NPC because the weapons shot speeds were too fast and NPC had perfect aim. Even with the 500m range of the phasma/ion guns, I seen to be effective hitting only in the 300-0m range. I also would not want to see the most effective PvP tactic become stopping the ship and turretting around. You should need to out manuever a target to win.
6 - Neutral. Keeping records of prices takes an lot of work, but if the information is easy to get too you could not gain a advance over other players.

4 - Strongly agree on the counter-measures suggestion. And as we all know, ion storms happen. Weaker players have absolutely no defense against Orne Guardians and such and may not have the speed or battery power to outrun them. It would be nice to have flare or chaff to drop before you make a sharp turn - something that could lead the chaser astray for a few crucial seconds.

Agreed about the chaff- I'd like to point out

Take a look at #1... seems like the "poor man's chaff" to me.
