Targeting, scanning, and markers. Oh my.

I think we need some extra targeting keys.
In a sector full of roids targeting something specific is a pain, and in the case of targeting a hostile player who is green on your radar it was bad enough without 100 roids to filter through.

I propose a "target nearest player" key.
"target nearest roid/ice" and "target nearest cargo crate" would also be nice.
Basically I think the more the merrier, just because a command is there doesn't mean you have to use it, it's nice to have options for different styled players.

Also... markers would be nice. I know the first thing i wanted when I found a good mining roid was to be able to somehow distinguish it from the rest in the sector.

so many possibilities...
Weapon scanner: reads targeted ships weapon loadout.
Weapon scanner MkII: reads weapon loadout and ammo (if applicable).
Cargo Scanner: reads targeted ships cargo.
Weather Scanner: can detect ion storms within a certain range (say 5 sectors in all directions)
Weather Scanner Mk(insert roman numeral here): Increased range.

I'm sure there's at least a few more scanners people can think of.

Select target in reticle works just fine. Dandy, in fact.

Scanners such as you mention are not a high priority; more sensible would be a way to see the mass of others' ships in the char info screen...

It would acually really help if when you toggle radar items off, they are not selected when you cycle targets. So if Hostiles are toggled off they are out of the target cycle.

Same with objects and cargo...

also, could we have the option to use the old 3D target box on enemies? - i don't know why but it just made them easier to see in terms of visual awareness of their position and orientation.

just an option to switch between..unless someone could tell me how to do it in the code...
