advanced combat missions
I just started leveling a new character yesterday before the update, and was having a reasonably good time killing Tycorp Assaults in the advanced training at level 2 combat.
Since the update, Tycorp Assaults are no longer on my list, I can choose between collectors, or guardians, neither of which are very appealing.
I think the advanced combat mission should only have a lower limit on which bots count towards the bonuses, meaning that if I want to go out and take on the furies at level 0 It will count towards the 4 bots I have to kill in order to receive a bonus. But if I'm at level 8 I shouldn't be able to receive bonuses for killing Artemis Collectors.
I just don't see a point to limiting lower level players to "easier" bots.

It doesn't seem right that you get -zero- combat pilot xp for combat outside the training missions. Or at least I haven't found a way to get any. Is that a bug or an intentional "feature"?
adding a minimal amount of combat XP to bot kilss sounds reasonable. If you can earn trade XP outside of a mission why not combat.
I'd suggest a very small amount 1xp for orun collectors, 2xp for Kannik collectors, 3xp for dentek collectors, 4xp for artemis collectors and so on.
You would still be better off doing a mission where you are being observed by the nation and awarded bonus XP. However if you're trading a kill a few bots on the side you can add a few points to your combat XP.

zach, there is a way to get combat xp outside missions: PvP. The xp is normally pretty good (around +500 per kill).
Well... normally about 350 per kill, and kills come once or twice an hour for the average player. So don't count on leveling through PvP any time soon.
Don't forget killing the Queen, I'm not sure on the numbers though.
Thanks guys, I haven't gotten into PvP yet so I wasn't aware of those. As a suggestion though there should be some accumulation through mundane combat. Dentek & transports give you 20-35 on the weapons skills when you kill them, you should get something for piloting too, maybe a similar amount.
