Groups

Can we please get a reassesment of groups.

I would already be happy just when you would be able to select singleplayermissions in stead of only multiplayermissions.

Reason being, I have a tendency to help newbies (if there are any) and not losing them or finding them once they shout for help is sometimes a troublesome process. Especially if you helped them a bit and guess they might do moderately without you. Not to mention that it will make formationflying and learning it a lot easier.

Not to mention that when I am helping newbies I often am just escorting them and it would be nice to be able to get some of your own bots in between or to pass by another sector to drop of some cargo for yourselve or to mine alongside them or...

And please pretty please might it be possible that if one of your groupmates is jumping (intrasystemjump-intersystemjump within the 1000m range) you just have to hit enter to follow him/her/it. So destination will be automatically copied. This will also make it a lot easier to do formationflying in ctc and so.

And as a small extra addenda let the ctc transports be able to join your nations group. Meaning if you are itani and I message an itani transportbot /group join transportxxx it will join the group (and is also able to join the group from anybody else...). It will make ctc tactics in my opinion a lot more usefull and will also make it easier to locate them for defensive purposes. Naturally when a serco messages an itani transport bot with the same question it will denounce. If a neutral does the same it will depend on a combination of itani and serco faction(exact details I leave over to the devs).

I however don't know how hard all these changes are. But I do know that if they are to difficult that they are for a long term objective. But if something like this gets implemented or is already in the works then just a post of a dev or even fm that states working on it is enough for me.

cheers

I agree.

Also we need more group bonuses. (doubling them would be a start)

The only thing Ill say on groups is that right now the bonuses SUCK!!! Right now theres no reason to go group and have to kill 6-10 bots each vs. taking solo and only havin to kill 4-6. If the bonuses were higher (much higher) or if they came more often or something. Rite now groups are pointless.

sorry for the double post but just had an epiphany...

for bonuses....

T=(X*Y)+(.5*Y)

T= Bonus amount given to each player when the correct number of bots have been destroyed.
X= Bonus that would originally be given if done solo.
Y= Number of players in the group.

Effectively this gives a bonus equal to the original amount times the number of players in the group plus 5% for each player.(this might be rearanged to add 5% for each additional player to stop solo groups)

Example:

5 players in the group. Say hey get 300 combat xp for completeing a list on the advanced mission.

(5*300)+(5%*5)
(1500)+(25%)
1875 combat xp.

Makes the term effective. The more the merrier.

my idea from a few weeks ago.

EDIT: I assume in your post mike the XP gets split between all the group members, giving each of the 5 players 375Xp individually.
If you meant that each player gets 1875Xp then I would have to say that was too much.

The only problem i see with your formula other than that is that a single player could do the group mission for a benefit

(1*300)+(5%*1)
(300) + (5%)
315xp.

IMO a single player shouldnt get any benefit from doing a group mission solo.

change the formula to:

a= number of people

(a*300)+(5%*(a-1))

this stops that problem spellcast.

anyway I wasn't really aiming for anyhting like that, I just want the option of doing singleplayermissions even if im in a group. The group is mostly only there to be a group of friends and to easilly find each other or to help each other out, or for tactical means.
