I haven't been playing Vendetta for a while, and when I tried it, I had very bad lag. I used to be able to play completely lag-free before. Any idea what is causing it?

If you're using a software based firewall such as ZoneAlarm, it'll cause that. I'm assuming you're also on broadband, and not using any p2p services such as Bittorrent, Kazaa, etc

Each time there is a patch the firewall may need to re-recognize Vendetta. Usually the firewall software asks when it sees a change in Vendetta, but sometimes you have to allow it manually.

Ok... Well, I just tried the game again, my avg ping was about 440. The game was jumping backwards all the time. When I quit the game I noticed that I didn't even have my firewall on. (ZoneAlarm)

Weird. Would you please describe how you connect to the internet? DSL/dialup/shared etc.

512/512kbps ADSL. I used to play with a 256 ADSL before, and it worked great.

you probably have a virus, go to task manager and see if avupdchk.exe is running or any other exes that you don't intend to run.

i always run regedit and look in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Well other online games work normally, and I didn't find any suspicious exes, or anything that should be there in the register.

We did move the server recently. Maybe there's bad internet between the new place and your machine.
try pinging and trancerouting to the server which is majikthise.guildsoftware.com

Ping was 167ms on average, about tracert I don't know what I should look at, but the pings were not very high in that one either.
