game not recognizing my sound drivers?

Nov 08, 2004 Syntax42 link
It only allows me to select default windows WAV driver. I want to use my EAX. How do I use it? Is it just not implemented? Will it be implemented?

Forgot to mention, having 3d sound would be a HUGE attractor for me. I havent really gotten into this game yet but if 3d sound is in it, I would really love playing this. The difference in hearing someone shoot and then some lasers flying past you like whoah is awesome.

We don't currently have EAX support but if enough people request it, I'll add it.

Hmm EAX is mostly for enviromental sounds and stuff I think, I dont think you would notice it much in a space game, plus it hogs a lot of CPU power :)

But some hardware and surround sound support would be nice.

<-- Would love to hear EAX.

~ EAX doesn't eat a lot of CPU. If you have at least SoundStorm (on board sound offering found on nVidia's nForce 2) it won't eat 'too' much CPU.

Meh. Actually, the devs have good sound , a bit more echoing would be nice, and "fuller" sounding "whooses" when ships fly past you would be great... Surround sound + EAX would be a really great combo to have in Vendetta.
