MacBook Delays

Well, I (finally) ordered a new MacBook from Apple, and it was supposed to ship tomorrow. However, today I checked my order status, and discovered it now is estimated to ship by the 31st, and be delivered by the 8th.

This means one of two things:

Option A: Apple has received a higher demand than expected for MacBooks.

-Great for Apple.

-Not quite as likely as Option B, since the MacBook's been out for a while now.

Option B: The production line is being updated to include a new upgrade.

-Better for the customers, since they'll be getting newer (most likely more powerful) parts.

-This is the more likely of the two options, for two reasons:

-----Apple would be likely to know about how high demand is for the MacBook.

-----Several Mac rumor sites have been posting hints about a new Intel processor for the MacBooks, theoretically coming out around September sometime.

Woo! Good news either way!

Shouldn't this be in Off-Topic?

Why? It's Apple-related. I think it fits in fine :)

Or a production line broke down

I suppose that could be, too. Didn't think about that one.

i just picked mine up as well.

and i was just curious coming from an ibook with a 6 hour battery life, what is everyone else who has the macbook (non pro) battery life like? im getting 4 hours at 100%
i cant seem to find too much info on the web about it either.

I think the battery life goes from 4-6 hours, depending on what exactly you're doing with it.

Anyway, new possibility for Option B-- Monday, several laptop manufacturers released laptops with the Intel Core 2 Duo "Merom" chips. No word yet on any new Apple computers with Meroms, but there *has* been a suspicious "shortage" of Mac Minis...

/me prays to The Almighty Steve Jobs for an upgrade

the [update] tells that Apple ran out of stocks for the MacBook Pro, in Europe at least.

Hmm... do you consequently name you computers after birds, moldy? Or is it Mystique? Me, I'm rather fond of Bungie's plethora of rampant AI computers.

No. Someone else got me into naming computers. I must admit, it gives them more personality and distinction than just "my laptop" or "my desktop".

/my head a splode

IZ HERE!

But not *here* here. It's in town, and they tried to deliver it this morning, but I wasn't home. Now I have to wait until 4:30 (/me counts the minutes) and go pick it up at FedEx.

Lol

well macbook cna run for 6 hours, if you dim the screen to like the lowest...shut off airport and etc :)

Yeah lol, it was running down pretty quickly even while asleep.

One thing that annoys me about it, though, is that if I have an external mouse attached, and I close the lid to put it to sleep, if the mouse moves, it wakes up the computer and turns the screen on.
