Macbook Pro rumors

1. LED backlit displays. (Saves battery)
2. Small flash memory chips. (For booting OSX and "frequently used applications")
3. Core 2 Duo processor Upgrade. (Named "Santa Rosa". Supposed to max out at 2.4GHz and add 800mHz to the frontside bus)
4. ATI Radeon mobility X1900 (Mild mumblings and trends from wintel laptops point this as the future)
5. Battery life going up to an average of 6 hours (due to #1 and #2)
6. This is slated for release between May and the WWDC in mid-June.

I want a MacBook pro but I want to wait for these things! >_<

wait moldyman, it'll be worth it, even if nothing is improved, waiting for leopard is enough to keep me from buying now.

Santa Rosa is the chipset, not the processor. :-)

Also, note that Santa Rosa introduces the X3000 to mainline notebook chipsets, which means significantly improved performance on the MacBook. Hopefully.

The GMA X3000 has nothing to do with the MacBook Pro though, roguelazer. It will however make the regular MacBook much better for gaming. I disucussed some of the details regarding the X3000 here:

I'm waiting to buy a Mac laptop in May or June and really hope they've introduced most of the stuff mentioned by moldyman by then. Most of that stuff has already been unofficially confirmed really and we should be getting it no matter what, just maybe not by May. I really hope we don't have to wait until the fall.

If you hear news from a dastardly bank robbery in Switzerland, you'll know that I'll have succumbed to my desires.

There's plenty of unaccounted terrorist funds in Swiss bank accounts. You're fighting the war on terror, toshiro!
