Audio skipping

Dec 29, 2009 CMunk link
Running a 2ghz Intel MacBook with a gig of ram and the stock GMA 950, a 64MB video-card but think I'm having audio issues and have no clue what this macbook has as far as audio.

The sound skips and games stutters simultaneously impairing game play whenever it occurs, though I noticed, the more I decrease graphics settings, the less the game stutters... seems to be an audio issue .. but I really have no clue here. It seems to be caused or triggered by some intermittent effect, then goes back to smooth running. Everything else is smooth and lag free even in battle at high speeds, only probs during these random hiccups. I noticed, during two gaming sessions that it becomes more frequent until all sound is warped and garbled and no longer coherent.

Thanks for checking it out.

You can get to me at bhuddamunk@msn.com if you have any help to offer. Either way, thanks. Great game, hope to be able to get into it.. right now it's tedious with the stuttering problem and takes away from the fun and immersion quite a bit.

Don't post your e-mail address unobfuscated :)

Have you tried running it in windowed mode and run a diagnostic tool parallel to it? It's just a wild guess, but could it be that your processor is overtaxed?

I'm guessing you haven't turned on texture preloading, either.
