I just downloaded the game and as soon as i start it up, it crashes. I've got a Dual 800 G4 and a Geforce4 card, so I think I'm OK in the requirements. I know it's not a lot to go on, but anyone have any suggestions?

I cant even get it to start, when I double-click on the file its mark where it suppose to come up in the dock for a half a second or something (it dont even have the time to begin to bounce) then it disappear.

Best regards

when you say it crashes do you mean it just 'Black Screens' or it physically crashes ?
If it 'Black Screens' you go into the Vendetta package and open the
Config.ini file and change doshaders=1 to doshaders=0

Neither of you are running 10.1 are you ??

No its wont even show up in the dock before it quits, the dock just begin to mark where the icon is about to begin to bounce but then it just stops at the same second.

10.3.3 here.

Edit: I used a drink to capture the process: http://www.felira.nu/esse/vendetta.mov

Hmmm, for the time being you can skip the updater, of course assuming you are up to date.

Control click (or right click) on the vendetta icon.
Click "Show Package Contents."
Then open VendettaClient

You're english is quite good, no more than a handful of errors.

When I start it, it downloads any updates, the screen fades to black, then it comes back up with the standard Apple bug report box and then a separate bug report box for Vendetta. That's it. I've tried switching to a clean user in OS X and got the same results. I doubt it's my Nvidia card, but maybe it's a conflict with my other PCI cards. I have another video card-ATI Rage-a Delta 1010 sound card and a SCSI card. I'm running 10.3.3. It works on my G5 (after tweaking the "doshaders" value) and on my iBook, all running the same OS. My G5's at work, so playing it there not the best idea. The iBook's OK, but the graphics aren't the greatest. I'll try the "doshaders" tweak on my G4 and see what happens there...

Nope. changing the "doshaders" didn't work on my G4 dual 800. I'm baffled....

Is there any info in the MacOS X Console program?

I figured it out. Got an email from one of the developers asking if I had multiple monitors (I have 3 running), and that reminded me of a similar problem with another program. I had to physically disconnect the two other monitors from my computer (having them turned off didn't work) and Vendetta started up right away. Similar problem with Wolfenstein where it wouldn't play on my main monitor - always on the side ones. Haven't had this problem with newer games like Halo or UT2K4, but i'm glad I can finally play it on my G4, although I'd rather leave my monitors connected...

Yeah, I found the bug and fixed it.
The problem is with more than 2 monitors. Having 2 is ok, Having 3 is too many.
So for now you just have to disconnect (or maybe even just turn it off?) 1 monitor. It doesn't even matter which video card it's connected to.

i have the same problem, i go on the updater press play and nothing happends im only using 1 monitor and it doesnt work, i have all system requirments (and more) and the game just updated and i really wanna check out the new universe!!

oh and i already posted a bug report

Yeah, we have a couple other people with the same problem.

Please post a bug report via the bug reporter program. The bug reporter program is located inside the Vendetta bundle.

Sorry Ray, not fixed.

When I first started Vendetta, I got the download for beta 3.5. When attempting to start Vendetta, the presence of 3.5 dissapeared. Now the update screen shows only 3.4.4, says version current, but the game will not start. I'm running OSX
10.2.8 on a G4 dual 1Ghz. Only one monitor.

Funny thing is I can't even bypass the updater anymore. When I control click, it usually brings up a menu where I can choose "package contents" but that isn't working anymore either. Only running 1 monitor.

Heh, I didn't change the bundle stuff. Package contents should still work.
Jun 23, 2004 raybondo link
Hmm. RattMann, I dunno what the problem is. Vendetta isn't even starting up. Can you try to delete the vendettaclient stuff that's inside the Vendetta bundle? It should redownload that. Or if you're feeling energetic, reinstall Vendetta.

Hi Ray...

trashed the vendettaclient, restarted vendetta........still doesn't work.
Trash Vendetta completely???? *GULP*
Jun 23, 2004 RattMann link
Ummmm.....Ray??? Dude???

I trashed Vendetta as you suggested. One small problem. Vendetta Online won't
let me download Vendetta. It says "no more testers needed..."

Oh, woe is me !!
