Launching Vendetta Online in Tiger 10.4 8A294 causes after a few seconds of loading a total black screen with some lines of color flicker and a total and utter complete system freeze. Only way out of this one was pull the power.

I am just mentioning this because Tiger is coming and Vendetta should work on it of course. Maybe this helped.

Keeping in mind you're running a Tiger *beta* not the real thing, maybe we shouldn't just yet. FIxing games to work with beta-versions of OS's is not a good idea in my opinion.

oh I know that, I am NOT saying to "fix" VO for a beta version of Tiger or anything like that. I am saying to keep in mind Tiger is coming out and to think ahead.

What i'm saying is I don't think the devs should try to make vendetta work for tiger from a beta version of the operating system. Bad idea.

But we will beware and try to get Apple to test VO on Tiger before they release the OS.

If I know Apple like I know Apple, 'getting them to test it on tiger' means they send you a Tiger beta disc and then bill you for a developer membership.

I certainly hope that these things "breaking" is actually an indication that OpenGL 2.0 is coming for OS X.

The whole point of a beta OS is so you can get your app working with it before the final is released.

I've been told that it's not worth testing VO with 10.4 yet because there are too many things in flux yet and what may work one day could probably break the next day or vice versa.

VO starts fine on my Tiger G5, but (like Halo) it's a victim of the missing polygon bug. (It occurrs in any OpenGL context that uses vertex arrays / vertex buffers.)

i think is more critical the next release 10.3.7 that have some graphic cards updates. (i read it in a rumors page :-) )

Latest build of Tiger lacks the missing polygon bug, and sports VAST (i.e. 50-100%) performance boosts over Panther in VO. Look forward to the release!
