Optimal settings for iMac G5?

Hello!

Vendetta plays really well on my new iMac G5! I only can't turn everything to the maximum.
I could play in 1440x900x32 with high texture resolution and shaders on. Or in 1440x900x32 with very high textures but shaders off (there it is more fluent), or I think 1440x900x16 with very high textures and shaders.
Or I could play in 1024x640x32 with all to max. Everything else is always set to max, except the full scene glow (i don't see a difference, although it seems to slow down a little).

But 1024x640 doesn't look so nice as the native TFT resolution. I have these problems in general with games on the iMac G5. I can use shaders OR native resolution. I already thought of getting a CRT in addition, just for gaming. There 800x600 with high effects would run fluent and look fine.

What do the others use? I mostly play in 1440x900x32 with shaders and textures only to high. It is the best compromiss, I think.

Shaders look so much different and a lot better. But I really wonder why it looks so totally different. It even uses different textures, etc. That's weird to me.

(On my iMac G4 17" with G4/800 and GeForce4MX - 32 MB I always played with these settings: 1440x900x16 without shaders (not possible), textures to high and Background Detail also to high and not extreme - ran about the same speed as on the new one with new settings)

The damn FX5200U is crappy, especially for such a high resolution TFT (would be really ok in combination with a CRT, there 800x600 looks just fine)!! Steve, PLEASE give me an iMac G5 17" with Radeon 9600XT with 128 MB!! Or if it gets to hot give me a Radeon 9800 mobility with 128MB!! OH PLEASE!! I will buy the upgrade immediatly!! I love the iMac G5 so much, I don't want another Computer or Mac, I want it with a better graphics card! Please! *prays to Steve* ;-)

Thanks and greetings,

I think just turning off the full screen glow effect will give you a decent speed boost. THe effect does look nice though.

I have an iMac G5. I find that I have to turn down as much of the settings as possible and run it in 800x600 so that I can have the fullscene glow on. I love the glow.... oh the sweet, sweet glow.
