no other program or game causes this sort of crash. as soon as the dimmer turns the screen all the way off, it's a lost hope. no getting it back, no force quit , nothing until i hit the power button and hold it for 5 secs. With anything else, screen comes back with the slightest mouse jiggle. oh, and it happens in windowed mode too.

Which OS are you using?

I'm using os 10.2.8. It's not a huge problem, but once in a while if i step away for a few minutes it gets me.

What do you mean by "screen dimmer"? I've used Macs for years, and I have no idea what you mean, unless you mean Sleep. If you're letting your Mac go to sleep while you're in VO, then you should change your sleep settings in System Preference's Energy Saver panel. It's unreasonable to expect a computer game to tolerate being put to sleep, IMO, especially one where you are logged in to someone else's server whilst your computer sleeps.
