random controller issue

alright ray, i don't know if this has aything to do with the random crashes i have experieced, but i feel this is worth mentioning.

i have a logitech dual action controller. every now and then (it has become more frequent) vendetta will freeze while booting. errors log usually says something like "instinate address" or something like that. usually i trash my config file and reboot vendetta and it works fine. still, i felt it undesireable to reset my configuration whenever this happend.

reciently it froze and i tried something different. when vendetta began starting up i unplugged my controller, after it booted i plugged in the cotroller and found that the joysticks seemed mapped wrong. vendetta said they were being pushed to the side, but the control was not being touched by anything. after quitting and checking the errors log it showed this error repeatedy:

"Could not get HID element value via getElementValue. - (null) #-536870183 (0xe00002d9)"

i have found that booting this way and pressing "scan" resets the controller and it will work fine for a while. as opposed to plugging the control in after booting vendetta then pressing scan, this would cause a freeze.

if you need more details feel free to ask. i made a copy of the error file if you want to take a look.

thanks ray, and i am sorry for bugging you so soon after my last post. i hope i am not delaying any cool updates you might be working on :D

I've had an occasional issue with my logitec rumblepad 2 where Vendetta confuses buttons and (or example) starts firing on it's own and messing up the direction control. Last time it happen, I had an hostile station guard selected.

I had to explode before something awful occured.
