Ubuntu 9.04 64bits - Intel G45 - X.org sometime crash :-/

I everybody,

Simple message to notify that VO sometime crash my X.org server (during load at 11% or when jumping from 1 system to another). It's a little bit random but that appear many time... boring.

I think that a module problem with Ubuntu 9.04 64bits system.

The laptop is a Dell E6500 with 4GB of RAM and a Intel Core2 Duo CPU (P9600 @ 2.66GHz)

Not much information on what's causing the crash.

Depending on your memory, you may try lowering the amount set aside as shared in your xorg.conf file. Though with 4 GB, hard to imagine that's the problem.

Also, try and turn off all the extra eye-candy and see if you can get it stable at some minimum. After that, add in more eye-candy.

Have you made the changes to enable UXA? I was experiencing problems with the GMA 945 Intel chipset and they went away when I did this (though I have 32-bit). If you check some the forum search tool, I left links behind to the instructions. There was also a problem with something called mtrr that required a patch and script to be run at startup.
