A few questions about controls on gear VR

First off, thanks for making this awesome game cross platform with PVP for the gear VR. I am a noob but seems intriguing so far, though I am not yet through the tutorials. So to my questions:

So I noticed while playing with the new samsung controller, I cannot turn short of turning my head 360 degrees, I usually like to play VR games in a stationary chair, but is a swivel chair recommended? Or is there a setting that lets me steer with the VR controller? And that leads me to my second question..

Should I be using my other dual analog BT controller instead? It is a "Matricom G-pad" https://www.amazon.com/Matricom-Wireless-Rechargeable-Bluetooth-Compatible/dp/B015YF3YZ8

I also have a very tiny less used SteelSeries "Free" https://www.amazon.com/SteelSeries-Wireless-Controller-Bluetooth-Samsung/dp/B009AOFNU4 I prefer to use the Matricom if a Dual analog controller is the way to go.

So yeah, overall for Gear VR users, what is the superior input to be using for PVP and just the game in general?

Any opinions or tips are appreciated as I don't have the extra time to test them all out for myself as the game itself seems daunting enough. Thanks.

Yes, use a gamepad. More buttons is better

You can joystick steer and I think the devs are in the middle of improving this because they just rolled out an improvement to touch analog input.

For now, I prefer head steering and a gamepad for everything else. This requires changing the settings each time you log in (because the game assumes you dont want to do this if you have a gamepad, and resets it on login). The setting is in vr options, head steering. I like fixed world hud locked to ship. This is one of four options, my fav but requires a swivel chair. There are others that don't.

I played for months with joystick steering and it is okay for pve. May get better soon, and Ill be trying it again.

Thanks, I have been using the dual analog setup for now, will experiment more with your setup later to see which I like better.

The standard controller that basically all the Gear VR developers target is the Steel Series XL (partially because that's what Oculus gave everyone). We also have Moga Pros, Razers, and Nykos that work well. Other controllers are.. possible? Hopefully your Matricom works ok?

We made some improvements to the analog controllers a month or so ago, and we're going to make another improvement in the near future (possibly Friday). I personally use the dual-analog, and it's the main UX target for gamepads, although we do make options available as anthonsh12 mentions (we'll try to resolve that not-saving-options issue too).

Id just like to point out that all these changes went into effect and it made a huge difference in my opinion.

There are now several great ways to play.

Im back to using the gamepad.

New to this and using the Gear VR and SteelSeries XL. The controller works flawlessly except the analog curves. I have flown PC games with HOTAS sticks and lots of tunjng the curves. The curves in vendetta are like hokey sticks whike I kike a more linear curve. Tried working with the calibration but still cannot tone down the sudden rapid movement as you hit about halfway.

That option is coming soon. Probably.

We are looking to add more options for player selectable curves. But, I don't have a release timetable at the moment.
