A monitary system (lol)

Jun 27, 2005 katcha2 link
I feel that we should have a money system. it would be like this:
you type /money and thos comes up:

give: give money to someone
accept: accept money from someone
decline: decline money from someone
acceptloan: accept a loan from someone
declineloan: decline a loan from someone
loan: loan money to someone (1-9 days, 1-10% intrest)

i think that this would be good, but the loanb system is more of an addon that a neccecity.

who's with me?

PS lol

Besides hiring Borb (remember to go thru LeberMac the BorbPimp) to help collect, how would one force collection on a past-due loan? Would there be default procedures?

We already do have a money-by-wire system in place.

/givemoney "Player Name" <amount of money>

If you don't want the money someone gave you, simply send them back the amount you were given and leave the sector -- this command only works on pilots who are in your sector.

oh, right. sorr about this wasted thread, then...

[quote]how would one force collection on a past-due loan...[quote]

when the loan "expiry" date came about, the amount of money would be transferred to the lender. Should you not have the required amount, you go into the red.

for all idiots (and trolls, who? me?) this means the DREADED MINUSES!!!

I think the loan idea is a good one that I don't ever recall seeing as a standalone suggestion--I do remember having stuff like this with the original people who ran "banks". I think they did something about loans.

Would assuming that for the part about interest you were going along the lines of "the longer the loan, the higher the interest" be correct?

Hah. I love it. People who cricicize new players become trolls by default!

I don't really think a loan system is neccecary, at least at the moment, and banks (EX: Bank01 of IA) can already charge interest on it's members if we so desire. Money is easy to come by as it is...

Uh, where did katcha2 say criticism made you a troll? I must have missed that part... who? me? & genka are self-admitted trolls.

Right now most players may not have much need for loans, but I know several players who might benefit from being able to take out loans. And it's possible that this will not be the case for long. Incarnate recently said "There'll be more sweeping changes to the economy and other areas coming up," and while I am merely guessing, I think making money less plentiful is likely to be part of that.

Personally, I like this idea. It would allow for more player interaction, which is always a good thing.

Well Leber that is why we need a way of shooting out some one's knee caps. It could like add mass to their ship for a few weeks as they would have a harder time flying with messed of knees.

i like the loaning money idea, also this brings along the possibility of going into the red?

heh,

im just going to say infinite moneybug. And trust me, I would be able to get billions without a problem...
Jun 28, 2005 Beolach link
How so, Rene? I can think of a couple ways you might be thinking of, but they're very easy to fix. It's really not fair to say "there's a problem with that" without telling what the problem is, so we can fix it.
