Of course it will work exactly like this forum, for your pleasure so that you don't whine around that you don't like the new forum, because it has icons & "all the fluff".

But new functionalities like quote, tags, font, search, list of users posts and many others will also be present, but in a form that is visually & functionally compatibile with current layout of the forums.

I say I don't like that stuff, and prefer a minimalist forum that doesn't let people post in illegible fonts and what-not.

So, your saying that a game made by 4 developers that now has 100s of paying subscribers is broken? Now your just being silly. Most people who make similar efforts in a small group to produce a game fall by the wayside and are never even heard of, but VO is riding at the top. The mmos they are competing against have 100s of employees at their disposal, and some don't even improve the game as much or as often as these fine devs. Just look at how much money has already been raised by the kickstarter. For a four man mmo that started out as a fun project on the side for them!

The perception of something being broken is in the eye of the beholder, and your vision seems very much clouded.

P.S. You can continue to ignore my posts if you want, but the logic is still there. I was trying to make you understand your efforts are futile since everyone on the forum has already made up their mind about the type of guy you are, but your silence is annoying. And btw, no one gives a crap if your the successful owner of a company, or if your the president of the US, it doesn't matter if you have such a big attitude problem. The world is a large place, and there it is extremely unlikely you are one of the smartest people on it; if you were smart, you would know that.

I am sorry, it seems you are correct. I should probably have. I have wasted enough of time here. I thought this will be a better way, but i was wrong.

The reason Inc&GS won't change the forum is because of the heavy intergration with the actual game code/data, intergration witth the game player logins, as well as possible backend intergration (eg, mute/bans/etc?, though not sure on this) and stuff we may not see at present. The rest of the site also has intergration with the border stats, ctc, race stats, etc.

None of that precludes replacement of the forum and with any standard forum heavily customized to intergrate users, stats, and other bits. However, hacking away at existing forum software to link all this data usually means problems down the road when upgrading said forum software, as API's change, structures change, etc... This all means if they replace the current forum with something in the FOSS space they would have to keep pace with it to keep things stable/secure AND intergrated with all the backend goodies so it's a trade-off with doing the work in their own custom forum (which they already have to keep uptodate but don't) or re-doing the work in some other forum-ware every time major releases come out.

I speak from much experience, as I have done similar projects (and actually COULD prove it not just talk out my ass, as well as many players here in ITAN who could vouch for my abilities on site/game/plugin intergration).

Also one other thing to note PoL, your "hiding" your real identy smells of foul fish and no one in their right mind is gonna "take your word" for crap with the attitude you bring to the table. As a "succcessfull" developer you should have a porfolio handy to share, that doesn't have to be stuff you made for "other" ppl just some code that shows you are capable of more then blowing BS out your rear.
