Just read through this thread and did not see any references to the problem I have been having since I upgraded to 10.5.3 from 10.4.11. In many sectors I experience
"horizontal blanking," that is to say, portions of the screen go blank in horizontal bands. It is "flickering" (in a way) but not the entire screen; a horizontal band will blank for a portion of a second, then a lower portion of the screen will do the same, and in a few seconds, another portion of the screen will do the same. There is no noticeable pattern to the "blanking", either in screen position or timing. Anyone experience the same or similar problem?

Mac Pro
10.5.3
4 x 3Ghz Intel Xeon
9G RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 7300GT
Apple 23in Cinema HD display
@1920 x 1200

Any ideas??

I think your computer is too fast.

Seriously, though, That's a new one. Sounds like some video driver bug to me.

Probably the low-end option. You can get up to the NVIDIA Quadro FX 5600 with 1.5 Gb or on-board RAM with the Mac Pro.

Mac Mini? VO doesn't seem like a resource-hog, at least on the Mac.
